Yandal Belt Gold Prospects

Aragon has defined a number of priority gold targets which it considers to have potential for both supergene and primary gold mineralisation and these have been the immediate targets of exploration. The priority gold targets are:

  1. Mission Prospect.
  2. Cables Prospect.

Most of the gold targets within the Yandal project area have previously been the subject of wide spaced systematic shallow drilling, but only very limited follow up drilling. Aragon has been committed to actively drill testing numerous targets and evaluating the significant land holding with reconnaissance geochemical surveys and mapping. Immediate success has been achieved at the Mission and Cables Gold Prospects with the identification of a mineralised gold system that has produced high grade assays from reverse circulation drilling into the primary dolerite host.

Mission and Cables Prospects

Located just 7km north of the Darlot Gold Mine the Mission and Cables Prospects are located in a zone of structural deformation extending north from the Darlot Gold Mine. Historical shallow drilling within this zone has reported high grade gold assays. Aragon has since completed a Sub Audio Magnetic Geophysics Survey to better define the structural controls at depth and has then followed this up with two successful reverse circulation drill programs that have resulted in numerous high grade gold assays.

Mission Prospect

Drilling at the Mission Prospect in 2006 identified a zone of over 400m in strike length which contains significant supergene gold mineralisation. The zone remains open along strike and wide space geochemical drilling has identified gold anomalism approximately 1.5 km north on what may be an extension to the zone. RC drilling by Aragon has returned numerous high grade gold results such as:

Cables Prospect

The Cables prospect is located immediately west of the Mission Prospect and has been drilled to define a large NNW trending 3km long zone of highly anomalous supergene gold in a similar geological setting to the Darlot Mine. Significant gold results from the limited previous deeper RC drilling includes 5m @ 4.2g/t Au, 2m @ 9.1g/t Au, 3m @ 9.0g/t Au, 11m @ 2.7g/t Au and 2m @ 4.9g/t Au. Aragon has continued to target primary gold mineralisation within the magnetic dolerite host. Selected significant results from the RC drilling completed by Aragon include:

There remain numerous untested drill targets defined by the SAM survey in the form of structural dilatation zones where gold deposition is most favourable. While at the current stage of exploration it is too early to report a mineral resource, it is clear from the results to date that the area has the potential for a new primary gold discovery.

Weebo Prospect

The Weebo Prospect is located near the western end of Lake Darlot and includes a 5 kilometre long gold anomaly within a major imbricate thrust system immediately east of the significant Ockerbury Fault Zone. Historical drilling has been limited to reconnaissance aircore and limited RC drilling. A number of high grade gold intersections to this structurally controlled zone are worthy of follow up drilling. Previous high grade results include 2m @ 30.1g/t Au, 2m @ 21.9g/t Au, 2m @ 7.3g/t Au, 2m @ 6.5g/t Au and 4m @ 2.4g/t Au.

The Company has completed a SAM Geophysics Survey over the area and has conducted infill aircore drilling to determine if these high grade intersections are associated with more extensive zones of supergene mineralisation with the potential to develop into shallow economic resources. Aragon will continue to evaluate the Weebo region and believes it has the potential to host significant primary gold mineralization.

Lake Violet Prospect

The Lake Violet Prospect is a large silica pyrite alteration system associated with two major parallel NNW trending thrust faults which provide a similar structural setting to the nearby Jundee Gold Mine. Previous wide spaced air core drilling, on 640 metre or greater spaced lines, along this 25km long system has outlined a number anomalous gold zones.

The Company is planning to carry out initial aircore drilling along strike from the anomalous intersections prior to drilling deeper RC holes to target structurally controlled primary mineralisation.

Corboys South Prospect

Aragon's tenure covers the southern strike and eastern down dip extensions of the Corboys Project of Great Australian Resources Ltd which has a reported resource of 152,000 oz of gold. The mineralised structure appears to extend to the south onto Aragon's tenements where previous surface sampling reported anomalous gold up to 5 g/t along strike from historical workings adjacent the main structural trend.

The Company is planning to conduct a program to test the eastern extensions of the Corboys resource area and a systematic air core drilling program to test the potential of the demagnetised zone to the south along the structure.
